PHUMC - Alewar

The name “Alewar” is a Visigothic named composed of the German elements al, or “all”, and war, or “guard”, meaning “Guardian of All”. Our shield represents the armor worn during our jobs as public servants to protect us and make sure we made it home at the end of the day, and is emblazoned with the Roman numerals “LX” which is the numerical meaning of Alewar. It is also encircled by a celtic knot which represents family and unity. The two upward facing swords represent the on-going fight to protect our community and nation from individuals meaning to do us harm.
