Gustavo is Head Instructor and founder of Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as the president and fouinder of the Virginia Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Gustavo was promoted to Black Belt by Professor Roberto "Gordo" Correa, and has instructed U.S. Navy Seals, U.S. Army Special Operations, and both Federal and Local Law Enforcement agencies.
